Black History Month

Focus on Black Health & Wellness

February is known as Black History Month thanks in large part to Dr. Carter G. Woodson, founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life (ASALH), a group that develops annual themes to promote Black history’s vital role in pursuing equity and justice.

In honor of the 2022 theme, Black Health and Wellness, the Niles-Maine District Library’s Anti-Racism Actions Committee created a program series to honor ASALH’s dedication to Black communities across America.

All ages are encouraged to join us in this journey by attending programs and checking out materials featured throughout the Library during Black History Month.
